“Primary service” of process refers to the serving of original or other process designed to obtain jurisdiction over a person or property for the purposes of these Best Practices. Following the service of the initial process, the “secondary service” of process refers to the serving of subsequent papers exchanged between the parties. These Best Practices are applicable to both primary and secondary process service.
