“Some of you are wondering what the steps are that we use to locate a defendant. We go by the Florida laws of, civil procedure, the 1.942. That’s the form that the Supreme court recommends. There are numerous search engines that we use. We actually go above and beyond what the Supreme court recommends. First, we look at your social security number to see the most current address. We would do a credit header to find out where your creditors are sending bills to. We do a bankruptcy search. We do a neighbor search. We would try to contact relatives, motor vehicles in that state driver’s license, search, contact tax collectors, property appraiser. We look to see if you’re in the military internet searches, we locate prison records, jail records. We attempt to locate court records for traffic tickets. We search records for divorces marriages. We do employment searches. We would search for a postal forwarding. We check regulatory agencies, occupational licenses. We go above and beyond actually what the Supreme court recommends. A lot of searching is not just done on a search engine. A good skip tracer or investigator goes above and beyond and thinks outside the box. It’s like solving a puzzle.”
