Integrity is a lifelong commitment.
The fundamental principles that lead to trust, reputation, fair play, dependability, and adherence to proper conduct, standards, and values are “Integrity: The Inevitable Element.” James Thomas
A brief reading of “Integrity: The Indispensable Element,” a Kindle book by James Thomas, sets the stage for an engaging discussion regarding Integrity and the lawyer’s decision to outsource Legal Services and Service of Process. While Integrity is essential everywhere and in every setting, it is a non-negotiable quality that must be met before one is admitted to practice law. Upon acceptance, one joins a noble profession and is expected to maintain the law and treat it with the utmost respect. Thus, it is reasonable to anticipate that all lawyers value Integrity.
We recently went to a Legal Conference and attended a closed-door discussion group, where the conversation quickly derailed into a nearly 100% unanimous bashing of each attorney’s Process Service company. No attorney in that room (other than our clients) had anything good to say about their Service of Process provider. We have always believed that Integrity, following through on commitments, and being trustworthy, are the keys to our success. However, we did not anticipate the extent to which the legal community has discovered a complete lack of Integrity inside the Service of Process sector, a vital service to the legal community.
Because the legal industry, lawyers specifically, are held to an incredibly high standard of Integrity, it baffles us that so few Process Service companies don’t understand the need to deal with their clients with the same level of Integrity.
We observed the same pattern in this meeting as we do when speaking with lawyers one on one. To be honest, our sector has lost its Integrity. Courthouse files are left unopened, undelivered, and sometimes not even picked up. Promises are made without thinking about whether they can be kept. We heard from attorneys about a total disregard for effective Service of Process and an unwillingness to track down those that attempt to dodge service. We were astounded that following through on our promises puts us miles ahead of most competitors.
We began our Integrity Series as a result. We know that our clients are held to a higher standard of Integrity, and they depend on their outsourcing partners to provide the same level of Integrity to them. Our clients deserve to have faith in our honesty as Process Servers.
Call us today to learn more about the impact of a Process Server whose company is built wholly around a client code and our Integrity. We even go so far as to give every employee the authority to “make it right,” regardless of the circumstances between our Process Service company and your law firm.
Integrity is not just a catchphrase; it is a lifelong commitment to keeping your word, carrying out your obligations, and taking responsibility for any problems that arise.
