As mandated by Florida Statute 48.101, if a corporation was dissolved prior to July 1, 1990, and process is to be served on one or more of the directors of that corporation then the court system regards that as being served against all directors of that corporation, since they are all considered to be trustees of that corporation.
If action is to be taken against the corporation itself then process will be served in accordance with Florida Statute 48.081.
48.101 Service on dissolved corporations.—Process against the directors of any corporation which was dissolved before July 1, 1990, as trustees of the dissolved corporation shall be served on one or more of the directors of the dissolved corporation as trustees thereof and binds all of the directors of the dissolved corporation as trustees thereof. Process service against any other dissolved corporation shall be in accordance with s. 48.081.
