Um, and I don&#8217;t want to appear that way, but the facts of the matter are, that the \u00a0 Process Server industry is very male dominated. The last statistics we read, I read were 61% of all people in that industry were men. And now I have this relationship with Mike and I love talking with him and almost offhand, it turns out that he has over half of his leadership being women. What&#8217;s it like working as a woman in a male dominated field, and is there an advantage to it?<\/p>\n<p><strong>Angi Heath:<br \/>\nVP 360Legal, Tampa Office<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Working as a woman in a male dominated industry can be very interesting. There are a lot of advantages, being a woman, especially in the fields of Investigation, or Process Serving. \u00a0Women tend to be more gentle; not as confrontational. I do notice when we do investigations, being served is not really ever a good thing. \u00a0When you&#8217;re being served, it&#8217;s you\u2019re losing your house. Yeah, or it could be a divorce or collections, something that can be very upsetting and life-changing. So, it seems when a female makes contact with the defendant, they seem to have a little more empathy in these difficult situations.<\/p>\n<p>I get a little bit more information out of people. You can tend to be softer as a female and help the defendant relax a little more and be a little understanding. Um, sometimes when you&#8217;re softer, you can get a lot more information out of someone because you&#8217;re gaining their trust. I feel like a lot of times defendants feel more comfortable with females. And when you have a female process server and they&#8217;re walking up to a house, they also can be a little less confrontational, a little less suspicious, little less invasive. I believe being a female in this industry definitely has its perks.
